Emails use energy and produce CO2
An email with a lot of images generates approximately 50g of CO2 emissions, primarily due to the energy required to power data centers.
If you unsubscribe from a marketing list that sends daily emails, within a year you could reduce CO2 emissions by the equivalent of driving 45 miles in an average car.
While unsubscribing from emails alone won't save our planet, it has a large impact relative to the effort required and is a way to start thinking critically about the carbon impacts across our lives.
